This is one of the classic 'New Mexico' or 'Hatch' chilli and is also known as the 'New Mexican Chilli', this moderately hot fruit is deep green, turning red. Very smooth fruits, 18cm long and 4cm wide on tall (50cm), productive plants that offer good foliage cover for the fruit. Excellent for stuffing. The term 'Hatch' is a generic term for chillies that originated from the Hatch Valley region, New Mexico.
Heat level: Approximately 500 to 2,500 SHUs. Learn about Scoville Heat Units (SHUs) here.
Harvest: Starts fruiting about 65 days from potting on as seedlings and under good growing conditions. Pick when the fruits have reached their maximum size. Fruits ripen from green to red.
Size: The plant can grow to 1m high and will require support.

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.
