Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion (JPGS) chilli plants produce extremely hot, gnarly-looking peppers that ripen to a peach colour. It is a hybrid variety created by Jay Weaver in America and is a cross between a Ghost (Bhut Jolokia) and a Trinidad Scorpion, boasting a floral, slightly sweet flavour behind the intense heat. The plants are known for their vigorous growth and relatively generous yields for a superhot variety.
Note that this is a hybrid created by chilli enthusiasts. And as with many new hybrids, there is a chance that the strain isn't fully stable. So there is a chance you may end up with a plant that is a bit different from the original. But this is the exciting part of growing new weird and wonderful varieties that the chilli breeding community produces.Â
Heat level: Approx. 800,000-1,200,000 SHUs. Learn about Scoville Heat Units (SHUs) here.
Harvest: Harvest at any time, but best when they have fully ripened from green to yellow/orange.
Size: In pots or in the ground. Minimum pot size is 2 litres. Â
